Namco Bandai has announced the World Tekken Federation, a new online community service that will launch on the same day as Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The World Tekken Federation will allow players to track their personal statistics and compare them with other players around the world. Players will also be able to create and manage teams to play with friends and will be able to compete in special online events.
Namco has divided the service into two key parts: Scout and Train. The “Scout” half includes a centralized Tekken hub that will offer forums for discussing strategy with other players, team tracking and leaderboards, as well as a chance for team leaders to recruit other players.
Meanwhile, “Train” refers to a hub of information including fighter stats, where players can analyze their player card “to gain insightful metrics pertaining to their entire battle history.” Information such as which tag-team combinations work best will be included, and which characters could use more training from Tekken Tag Tournament 2’s Fight Lab mode. The World Tekken Federation will also offer its own achievements and exclusive community events and will be accessible “through any online connected device.”
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 11th. For more, check out our hands-on impressions.
