Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes footage comes out of PAX 2012, watch it now

Announced in a fittingly stealthy manner earlier this week in Japan, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes made its US debut today at the Penny Arcade Expo 2012 in Seattle, WA. Series mastermind Hideo Kojima presented the live demo to a live audience, and a video that was released hours later online. Take a look at it below...

Presenting the open world, vehicles, and impressive graphics we'd heard all about, it might be hard to believe this is made for current consoles, but Kojima reconfirmed that during his panel, which was soon supported by Sony, with the official PlayStation Blog calling it a PS3 game. He talked about how the game's engine, the Fox Engine, was particularly dynamic though, able to adjust for next gen systems and other genres. Of the examples of the type of games Fox could run, the famous developer mentioned Silent Hill, as he added more fuel to the rumor that he might make the next Silent Hill title. Kojima went on to describe Ground Zeroes as a prologue to a potential Metal Gear Solid 5, a starting point for Snake's new, Fox Engine future.

Now that you've seen the demo in motion, what do you think of the next MGS? Can Snake still keep up with the competition?
