Forget the GTA IV realism mod. A base-jumping, stunt-biking elephant is what you really need

So now there's a Grand Theft Auto IV mod that lets you play as an Elephant instead of Niko. The elephant looks to have access to at least the ground and water vehicles and can use them with extreme prejudice. This video needs to be seen. The motorised carnage starts at 2:40.

The mod is the work of one Indirivacua, who has also created a giraffe mod, as well a whole host of other characters including Slanderman, the Teletubbies and er, Sean Paul. Check out his page at GTAGaming.com to get hold of them. He has given the world a base-jumping elephant, and this he deserves your respect.

More GTA V Screens: Taking Care of Business

Another day, more Grand Theft Auto V screenshots. This time, Rockstar has released four screens with the theme of 'Business' on its Newswire.

On the run from the police? A car transporter is probably not the most inconspicuous form of escape.

A biplane: when a regular plane just isn't enough.

The Infernus makes a return.

Police sniper lines up a shot from a helicopter.

This is the third album released by Rockstar this week. On Monday we got a glimpse at the vehicles available in San Andreas, and on Wednesday we gazed at the leisure activities on offer in the game.

Today's post ends with the statement: "Hope you enjoyed this week’s 10 screenshot special from Grand Theft Auto V".

GTA V: New screens reveal vehicles, include possible protagonist casually piloting a fighter jet

Rockstar has again tantalised the Internet by releasing three new screenshots for the forthcoming fifth main instalment in its flagship open-world crime juggernaut: Grand Theft Auto V.

The images were posted on Rockstar's Newswire blog under the heading 'Transport' and likely showcase the various modes of transit that players will be able to use around Los Santos. The screenshots promise the return of bicycles, fighter jets and the Cheetah, which has historically been one of the series' fastest cars.

Above: That's a very detailed car model. Excited yet?

The most interesting detail to emerge from the screens is the man who can be seen sitting in the cockpit of the fighter jet. On close inspection, the character appears to be the same suited man seen at the end of the GTA V debut trailer. Could he be the game's protagonist?

Above: We've enhanced the contrast so you can better see him

The blog post was accompanied by the promise of more screenshots later this week. This corresponds with the GTA V portion of Rockstar’s official site, which collates the five screenshots released so far (the three most recent and two more, which were revealed back in July) and contains three blank image tiles – so it would seem safe to assume we'll have a total of eight to speculate over before the week is out.

Above: Bikes are back. Is it wrong we kinda hope the 'melting man' glitch is too?

There's still no word on a release date for GTA V, or even a release window, but you can bet we'll have the scoop as soon as any news comes to light.

So, what are your hopes for Grand Theft Auto V? How do you feel about Rockstar drip-feeding slightly abstract images that repeatedly cause the Internet to explode with conjecture? Let us know in the comments below!

New GTA V Screens Show Car and Jet

Rockstar has released new screenshots taken from Grand Theft Auto V. The photos were posted on Rockstar's Newswire. They showcase various modes of transport that will be available to citizens of San Andreas.

Transport won't be limited to vehicles with engines. (That looks an awful lot like Santa Monic Pier.)

The 'Cheetah': will it be one of the fastest cars in the game?

Take to the skies in fighter jets?

Tantalisingly, the post finishes with the promise of "More to come this week..."
